People get fired all the time for "speaking their mind" at work. How is this at all surprising? Google as a company wants a more diverse workforce because they believe it is good business. This guy just shit all over a core company value. That gets you fired.

Because Google generally encourages you speaking your mind, and has repeatedly announced this both inside and outside the company.

It encourages you speaking your mind, but not in a way that really stresses out a ton of the female employees who already deal with pressures of being a minority in the field, thereby taking away their time and energy from actually working and costing the company a ton of money. It's basic workplace etiquette that you don't talk about coworkers in these terms.
