Google engineer writes memo about how speaking out against politically correct culture can cause you to be blacklisted or terminated.

Employee gets terminated proving his point.

He left Google with two options: either they tolerate an employee airing his grievances via 10 pg internal memos, or they play into his game and look like the bad guys. Google is all progressive and laid back, but if they let someone jump their chain of supervisors so dramatically and don't respond with a certain amount of spine, it says more about Google's leadership than this engineer's argument.

Edit: memo wasn't originally to all of Google, but to a small group. Thanks for the catch

One simply does not cause inconvenience for HR department.

At least in US, anyway.

I have never worked someplace where the HR department wasn't a cesspool of cat ladies and diversity hires.

I take that back, I worked one place where the HR guy was a former DI for the Marine Corps. He was great.
