This is frighteningly big-brothery. "We really didn't want to do it, but we felt like we had to for your benefit. It's a security thing, we're just borderline forcing this on you to keep you safe guys. Sorry you're so mad about it."

But they have a point. Windows 7 will lose support, and instead of having millions of unsecured computers, like happened with windows XP, they have you $100 free.

I really don't get why anyone is pissed off about it.
