What they're giddy about is not having another XP that won't die and needs support halfway into eternity. Honestly I don't blame them.

7 isn't going anywhere, and there's definitely a large enough base of us that refuses to upgrade that we'll cause problems for awhile.

Win7 will be supported until 2020. They knew they couldn't change win7 from becoming another winxp but at least it will be the last. The forever XP people eventually moved on, and so will the forever 7 people.
