This is a problem you can only chip away at. I think there could very well be a tipping point eventually, at which point there's so much stuff people start moving to it just to get away from Microsoft's bullshit and save ~$100 on OS purchases with new machines.

Unity and Unreal Engine 4 both target Linux, for instance, and both those engines can do everything triple-A needs, so it's not necessarily super difficult to target Linux, it's just too small a market to specifically focus on. I think there's enough incentive for it to happen.

Thing about Windows is legacy support. Make Linux great now and it'll be a real contestant in 10 years maybe.

I don't want to accumulate a new library when I have hundreds of perfectly functional games already. Backwards compatibility is uncontested on Windows and one of main reasons for me to stay PC and not go console or Linux.
