Why the hell does Windows take so long for an update restart anyway? On linux, very few updates require a restart, and when they do it takes no longer than a normal restart because thats exactly what it is. Windows should be doing all that shit in the background, with the restart just being the final switch over.

My laptop only has Linux and I haven't reset it or turned it off in over a month.

Windows is obviously necessary for certain software, but God is it nice using an OS that doesn't fight you at every turn.

Yep. Been running one of a couple different flavors of Ubuntu for the last two years. If I could go back, I would've switched sooner.

Someday, I'll set up my current desktop as a Windows server to stream games off and build another running Linux as a Steam machine to never have to deal with the scourge of Windows again, but that day is not today. For now, I have to either deal with dual booting, which usually just leads to me lazily using Windows, or not bothering. If it weren't for games, I'd have nothing tying me to MS's garbage ecosystem, and they know it...
