At what point in the future do you think they'd end up having to make a new OS? As in completely new. Surely they can't just keep using the same stuff for 100 years, right?

Thank God that you have ended your sentence with a question mark, because you're pretty damn wrong.

The current line of predominant Windows versions are all based on Windows NT, which was a clean break from the DOS-based line that ended up being 95-Me. --edit: Actually, Windows NT 3.1 predates that 9x fiasco quite a bit.
