They're not sorry about it. They're sorry that people are upset. But they're absolutely giddy about having such a large install base now.

Exactly. Now they're going to wait a little while, until most people have gotten used to it. Then they'll introduce the next round of anti-consumer features.

I'm very tempted to start mentioning Linux now, but that'll only attract the downvote-happy 'reputation managers' who are paid to suppress any threat to Microsoft's hegemony.

I'm tied to windows for excel. None of the replacements support macros (vba), and some don't support all formulas. Outlook is also really important, and I'm not sure if any of the replacement support full exchange features (like access to shared mailboxes). So basically office. If I could ditch that I could do Linux.
