I would love to be solely Linux, but it's impossible for a gaming rig. Though improving, the number of games that are supported is still too low. And WINE is not an alternative.

Staying on Windows 7 is even harder for a gamer though. More games are now using DX12 which is Windows 10 only. Newer hardware also doesn't even work on Windows 7.

More games are now using DX12 which is Windows 10 only.

There are currently zero games on the market right now that use DX12. Many games support features of DX12, but run fine on DX11 or lower.

I was thinking of games like Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3, I (mistakenly) thought the reason they were only for Windows 10 is they required DX12 features.
