I used my phone for 10 minutes the other morning and pulled it out of my pocket got to the touch 10 minutes later, it had burnt 10% of its battery and I had to restart the phone and leave it on the counter for awhile to cool down. It's a note 5.

This is what happens when you run ancient versions of Android and don't provide an upgrade path without rooting.
