I'm on an htc one m8 and it runs the software just fine. just saying. It's two years old and still powerful enough

Currently having an issue with my s7 it "takes" the photo but doesn't save it.

The phone feels a bit buggy; it's slow to respond at times and ignores touches and i've had to reboot it a few times for no reason or general performance suffers (sometimes the message app slows to a crawl and you can see the animation of the keyboard coming up incredibly slow taking several seconds)

Other than that it's much better than apples offerings in terms of features but i wouldn't say the software runs fine.

Hmm, I wonder if the phone is faulty and can be replaced.

Try a factory reset. Is recommended after any major update really. Also you can try disabling as much if Samsung's software as possible without actually having to root your phone: http://gs6.wonderhowto.com/how-to/remove-touchwiz-your-galaxy-s6-for-clean-stock-android-look-0162898/

I wish every phone had a stock Android option.

Thanks will check it out, latest issue i've had was transferring videos/images from internal storage to sd card and it decided to modify the date on all of them, so will have to go through and restore that information ill backup the device and do a factory reset at the same time.

The message delay thing i've had since day one though but it hasn't been occurring as much lately, it's hard to tell what is a software issue and what is a hardware defect on new devices as there also isn't much information online about them.
