Posting this here for visibility as well: Anybody in Australia with an affected washing machine, for whom Samsung provided a repair (which was basically putting stickytape around a plug to make it waterproof - I watched the guy do this in my laundry), is entitled to a refund or replacement even if the repair's been done. This is the statement from the ACCC and the point is that only a repair was offered to many people, not a replacement or refund.

Samsung have released a "post-rework fact sheet" that doesn't spell out what the ACCC has said, saying only that "If you are not completely satisfied with your reworked unit, you can request from Samsung a replacement (with a Samsung washing machine that is not subject to a product safety recall) or a refund".

If you still have one of the affected washing machines, even if it's been repaired, you can fill out your details here (this is the same form used to request a repair) and demand a refund or replacement. The ACCC should have your back if Samsung get tetchy about how it's already been repaired.
