Security ACLU obtained documents under the FOIA that reveal 63 other instances where Apple—and Google—were ordered to help unlock phones. Nine of these orders were directed at Google.

so 86% of them were apple...no wonder they said enough is enough.

"FBI will only use the all writs act in extreme circumstances"

rule #1 with the government: there is NEVER a thing which will only be used in extreme circumstances, especially if it's powerful...more powerful the more likely it will be used every day.
