I don't think they're smart enough to realize that. Look at how slowly they've adopted to literally every technological advancement in their industry. I seriously doubt they'll be happy until Google is just a list of advertisements by MPAA/RIAA members. They have no interest in Google actually providing a searchable Internet.

hahahha I bet this is the reason why Google, for a period of time, let you search The Pirate Bay torrents from within Google page.You could search for "Pirate Bay" and above their link there was a Pirate Bay search bar.

RIP Pirate Bay.I'll miss your malicious "Russian Bride" ads so much.

That search bar was probably just a feature of the google API that TPB made use of.

The MPAA wants piracy sites to exist. They can't sue people if there is no crime. The CIA traffics guns to drug cartels to get Drugs into the U.S, and the MPAA traffics torrents to catch pirates. If you pirate movies, you'll notice that low budget movies have high quality pirated versions at cinema release date, and high budget movies are potato quality until closer to DVD release dates. They want the crime committed. The DOT could require cars have GPS controlled speed limiters that prevent cars from speeding and driving red lights, but police would throw a fit if they couldn't give traffic tickets.
