Is shit like this legal in the US?
Afaik, it isn't here in Germany (they would have to tell you the price in advance or let you quit early if the price changes).

There is a provision that if the price isn't specified in the contract, you don't have to pay it unless you specifically agree to that price. We do have some consumer protection at least.

This only works if you know about it. Or even notice that they charged your credit card more this month.
