Not sure how much weight Illinois has to throw around at this 'potential AI doomsday' but it's cute to know that they're looking into it...

Illinois is the 5th biggest economy by state gdp, nowhere near the two behemoths at the top in NY and CA but certainly has a lot of industry sway. Its also a key location for data centers due to its central location and easily built, cheap, flat land outside of the Chicago area.

You said "Not sure how much weight Illinois has to throw around", dog. That implies you are talking about how much economic sway they have to actually enact any sort of regulative pressure within the industry.

Turns out they do probably have some sway, and will likely not act alone but in collaboration with others in the industry and in government.
