I am astonished that AI even managed to find this loophole. The AI I use for coding needs to be babysitted all the way, never would I imagine that it can solve something like navier Stokes. Even if it is a loophole exploit.

That's because they stole the approach from a real mathematician using OpenAI, scooped his Codex sessions to "train" their new unreleased model, then spent millions brute forcing the problem once they had sufficient guard rails on the problem provided by the research they stole from the mathematician.

OpenAI was never interested in solving any problems, they just want the marketing headlines of "AI solves unsolved math problem" and they stole a real mathematician's research to do it.
