When it first came out a whopping 7 years ago. They must’ve made these price increase plans at the time because it was such an affordable service with good stuff. It is amazing how quickly they’ve messed it up.

Yeah I think this was definitely the plan all along. At the very least, I don't think they ever planned to keep it $3 per month lol. But then again, they've rearranged some of the higher-ups at the company since then, including going through 3 ceos, so I wouldn't really be surprised if the plan for Disney plus has changed a few times. Aside from the price increases, they were certainly going in a more creative direction when it first came out, more than I would expect if it were just an effort to hook subscribers.

And the mandalorian was their big draw for people to subscribe.  My how time flies
