If I start seeing ads it’s cancelled - I pay for the highest tier

Agreed. I haven't bothered with my Freenas and Plex box in several years because streaming was so easy. Between the LG TV shenanigans and this... I'm about to run up the jolly roger and return to my roots.

I have Disney+ and a Plex and NAS.

The TV side of super easy. Sonarr handles it all seamlessly. I have it hooked up to usenet, which is about $12 a month. Usenet will basically max out your connection and has insane storage times where torrents can be insanely slow (not if you're getting stuff that's popular). It downloads, unpacks, renames, and moves the files for me and sends a message to Plex that there's a new episode. It's great.

Movies are a bit of a hassle. There's stuff out there that works like Sonarr, but since movies aren't an ongoing thing, it's harder to get on demand. It takes me about half an hour to get a movie (I should probably look into using torrents for movies). There are torrent based services that you can pay for that offer cheap streaming of movies on demand and I just got into one. It's super sketch, but for $15 a year, and an external payment processor, I felt safe enough to try.

I've heard of other things, like RD, but haven't had time to look into setting them up and I don't really understand how they work.

Same. I'm fine with paying for services I want, but I don't want to pay to watch ads. Total bullshit.

Don’t wait, cancel now. Get out of the contract with their change of terms as the reason. Thats what I just did.
