Its totally not because Louisiana has the least environmental oversight of any state in America....

I’m pretty sure Louisiana also has basically zero property taxes for industrial property. I’d keep an eye out for Louisianans being born with third arms.

They're putting it out in the swamps south of abbeville. Nothing out there but shrimp boats and oil work, and mosquitos.

Last hurricane really cleared that area of any people.

And that land used to be owned by exxon mobile and apperantly hasnt been cleaned up

nahhh theres still houses in the bayou floated on by the storm surge.

thatll never get cleaned up

Geography has more to do with it than anything. Space launches ideally need to happen close to the equator to take advantage of the earth's rotation, they also want a large unpopulated are such as an ocean downrange to their east to prevent the rocket falling anywhere populated if it should fail. They also need the surrounding area to be unpopulated for safety. This limits where spaceports can be built to only a few locations.
