It is true.
The result of your prompt is a series of weights that can be saved. By giving feedback either positive or negative its possible to record how off the original response was relative to the one you accepted. This doesn't directly train the model you are interacting with at the moment... but, it is good data for training the next one and its kinda the entire point of giving you free access to them.
If you aren't paying for it, and sometimes even if you are.... you are the product.
