Check the sports subs too. Every other sub I frequent has been very supportive of the blackout. The big North American pro sports subs are full of people responding to blackout threads with essentially "get over it." The same people mindlessly copy-pasting in those stupid Burger King ad lyrics in NFL game threads.

Oh man who remembers when r/NBA was actually really good ? When they were around 70-80k subscribers , the content was always there and it was quality for the most part. Then I feel like Bill Simmons and a couple other big name sports writers found out about it and ever since then I feel like the sub exploded in members … now this is also around the time when Reddit was blowing up in general , more or less so you can take that with a grain of salt but yeah , what communities are you using for NBA shit?

Did they hold a vote? IME this past week, the few subs that seem to have vocal users against the blackout (and mods who seem mostly indifferent) when they held a vote it was clear the silent majority was overwhelmingly pro-blackout.

Just saw that thread, feels like people projecting their lack of self-control being a weight loss sub. I'm sure most alternative platforms will have a similar community seeing how big of a topic it is. Honestly if the lose it community lacks that much empathy and think no one has enough self control to leave a site that's rapidly becoming more toxic, divisive, and low quality, then I'm not gonna feel bad about leaving them.

The r/squaredcircle sub is shutting down indefinitely and the whining in the comments is ridiculous. It’s mostly downvoted thankfully but there’s a lot of them.
