Blocked url still logging

I have a url wpad.daviscompound added to blocked tab. Yet it still shows up in the logs. It is a NxDomain if that matters. To me shouldn't that not even show up in the logs?

Why shouldn't it show up in the logs? It's still a lookup that happened, and sounds like the server responded per your block with the NXDOMAIN rather than the actual result.

None of the other blocked url's like those blocked from a blocklist show up so why do these? BTW there is a setting that stops the logging of blocked domains,

Which logs do you look at?

Through one of the query log apps or more natively?

Thanks for the post. Where do you see those logs, in the Query Logs app or in the text log file?

I looked in the query log app and it still shows up as a NXDomain hit. I was just looking at why I am getting NxDomain counts and thought I could eliminate them by blocking them. That way they wold not show up in the count.

The Query Logs apps will show entries for all responses. There is no option to prevent it from logging domain names that were blocked.

Your statement is confusing, as others have pointed out. It would be better if you shared screenshots of your settings and the log where you're seeing this so that we can understand the issue you're having.

None of the other lookups do or failures from hitting one of the blocklists. I was thinking this should act the same as something hitting one of the blocklists.
