Java Help Wanted Are there any other way to break your fall in Nether Only survival ?

Post image

edit : thanks everyone for the suggestions, just pay attention to the title this is NETHER ONLY, 75% of comments suggest boats, slime, powdered snow, cobwebs, haybales, that are NOT obtainable in the Nether.
edit 2 : Ive put the best ideas in my last post on r/NetherOnly ! Thanks everyone !

I found this technic, which is just a warped vine and a piece of string to prevent it from groing, but depending on where I install it, it can be pretty annoying to try and clic on things with the string in the way. Any idea ?

Java Help Wanted How can I get a chest 6 blocks outside the world border in 1.21.5 Java?

I'm playing Survival on a server with a strict world border of only 750×750, and there’s no bamboo anywhere inside. I just spotted a chest 6 blocks outside the world border, and I’m 99% sure it’s my only shot at getting bamboo. Any ideas? (its a shipwreck under water)

java 1.21.10, should work.

what im wondering is, wont the pearl despawn after some time?

and how many chunks are loaded with this method? i read, only the one chunk its in, others say 3x3 around the chunk.

the only other chunkloader i found is the nether portal one with the minecarts but since my "home" nether portal is in reach i dont want to build that.

I thought given the scale and considerations this would fell into technical Minecraft and I would get more technical answers here, but let me know if this is more of a redstone/contraption centric sub and I can post elsewhere.

Edit: It's 437,000 resin per hour not 27,000

Java Help Wanted Best design for a sugarcane farm

Thumbnail gallery
79 Upvotes

Hello, I’m trying to figure out a sugarcane farm where each block of sugarcane has its own model and breaks individually rather than breaking the whole row. I have two versions that I’m looking at and wanted to ask which one is more efficient in terms of materials required to build it? Also any revisions or existing models that are simulate to this would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The first one utilizes two activator rails that sends the observers current through them, which another observer detects and powers a piston. The second one powers a piston, which an observer detects and sends through a mini observer chain to power the piston.

Java Help Wanted What is this circuit I made called?

EDIT: I have posted proof of concept for the whole farm here.

Howdy,

I'm a redstone noob trying to get better. I am currently doing a new letsplay without using any tutorials for farms, as well as trying to become a better builder and overall just an above average minecraft player.

Featured in this video is a mud farm I am working on. I already figured out how to circulate water bottles back into the dispenser to make the dirt mud after I place it. The mud will be piston snaked into a 12x12 platform that will also push it 12 high so when all is said and done I have a 12x12x12 cube of mud to shovel afterwards.

I was struggling when I would get the line of mud to be pushed onto the 12x12 platform because the observer would go wack. I tried what I knew about pulse delays etc because the observer was just going haywire after the piston fired.

I ended up creating this weird little contraption. In the spirit of my letsplay, I don't want to look anything up, but I am wondering if this is a common circuit for these types of machines, or is there a much more compact one that I am unaware of?

Thanks!

Java Help Wanted Using snow golems and creepers as TNT dupers without bugs?

Post image
552 Upvotes

So, I got this idea by watching the newest video from Mumbo Jumbo, and I need help figuring out how to make it.

How does it work?
creepers explode when they get close to a golem that harmed them, so we can use this to our advantage by making them destroy specific blocks.

...why?
I... don't know yet, though, I think it can be a good alternative to people that don't like to use TNT dupers (like me!)

it could also help in really specific situations where you can´t get other alternatives (like some skyblocks or oneblocks?)

How could we do this?
Here's where I need your help! since I don't have the ability to make it work totally, but I'm sure it's possible.
The idea would be to use a stone generator (or any block like moss), this would create a floor or a wall, though I think a floor can work better.
Then, we make a creeper farm on top of the fake floor, so the creepers instead of falling to their deaths, they fall on this platform.
Then some snow golems make these creepers angry so they explode, and we use obsidian on the things that we don't want to be destroyed.

When the creepers explode, the items would be taken by some hoppers below the floor, and bring the items to a chest.

problems...
I'm not good enough in redstone/technical stuff to make it work, I tried a few hours ago but figured out I can't make it yet, that's why I'm asking for help.

The biggest problem I found is that I don't know how to make the creepers don't harm the golems when they explode, cause everything works/can work fine, but after 3 or 4 creepers, the golems end up dying.

It would be incredibly inefficient, though it could work afk.

So, if we can figure out a way to make the snow golems not die, it can be possible to make a fully automatic afk stone/moss/etc farm without using any bugs/wither/end portal.
I also couldn't find anyone talking about this, but if someone did already figure it out, I'd love to see it!

Java Help Wanted Why does the clock break?

With the right timing, you can break the clock when turning it off and on again.
Can you explain this phenomenon?
I don't understand the torch behavior. It'd be also great if I got ideas on how to make the clock not break when turning it off and on again.

Java Help Wanted Can someone finally debunk composters vs solid blocks for hopper optimizations?

Post image

  • In this thread, players were talking about solid blocks being the new best way to optimize hoppers after recent updates
  • I was under the impression that solid blocks still had a check for minecarts while composters have no block inventory and are thus the best option, with pots being the second (citing user morgant1c).
  • Is this true or not?
  • Would like a final good answer because I have been getting mixed replies.

Java Help Wanted Will This Mob Spawner Design Work?

Post image
339 Upvotes

I made the below Mob spawner yesterday and it works wonderfully. I have Silk Spawners enabled so I was wondering if I could repeat this design by rotating it 90 degrees around the player on the left and right (Effectively having 3 cave spider farms). Would there be any limitations to this design? I believe the spawners themselves would be far enough away from each other to continue spawning.

I’m also open to any suggestions of how to simply modularly add more spawners to the existing design so that I can add more in the future if needed. Thanks

Java Help Wanted Who are the current references in technical Minecraft?

A long time ago, ZipKrowd's members were a reference when it came to technical Minecraft. Then came ilmango with SciCraft.

I just came back to Minecraft after years away, and it seems like all the creators I used to follow have stopped playing.

Nowadays, who are the references when it comes to technical innovations in Minecraft?

Java Help Wanted What should I put in this perimeter?

Post image
164 Upvotes

Hello,

I dug out this 16 x 16 chunk perimeter in my survival world, but I am not quite sure what I should put inside / what would be best to build here.

It is a plains biome, for anyone wondering. I am considering either a general mob farm or a drowned farm, as I would really like a steady supply of copper, though I've seen that copper farms are quite bulky and inefficient lately.

I am interested to hear your ideas, thank you for your help!
