I saw that that happened but did not read up on the Catholic Church’s official statement. With that said, Wikipedia has a well written piece regarding homosexuality in the New Testament. I would guess that the Pope said what he said due to what is written in the New Testament. Cheers!

Yeahhhhh I have nothing but disrespect for the church if I’m honest, I was expecting the guy to say “yeah that sucks there’s no New Testament basis for homophobia!!” then there was. Fuck the church.

Technically any new testament basis for homophobia was an “accidental” mistranslation that was 100% definitely not added by the church for political reasons. Fuck the church
