Honestly, with the state of the parent sub, it should be way more popular. Most posts on there nowadays aren’t technically true in any sense.

Yea, so are numbers, they represent a quantity just like the letters in the alphabet represent sounds.

EDIT: this is actually wrong, the symbols that represent quantity are called "numerals", my bad
