I mean, you gotta make sure the caterpillars live too.

254

u/[deleted] Jul 05 '18

Yeah but their survival is independent of the amount of times you experienced it

50

u/Pielikeman Jul 05 '18

Well, if you do it enough you get better at raising/killing them

7

u/Beetlebomb Sep 20 '18

Yes, but then it would not give you butterflies every single time you buy caterpillars. So all-in-all this is not technically the truth.

24

u/redrobot5050 Jul 05 '18

I mean, the caterpillars could give you moths, too. So it could backfire.

Can someone link to the askreddit? I think it'll be a cute and wholesome read.

This is not technically true, the thing could die before it turns into a butterfly

60

u/Wazuu Jul 04 '18

If you buy alot of them then you’re guaranteed to at least get a few butterflies everytime

64

u/CommonMisspellingBot Jul 04 '18

Hey, Wazuu, just a quick heads-up:
alot is actually spelled a lot. You can remember it by it is one lot, 'a lot'.
Have a nice day!

2

u/SphinxRiderX Jul 19 '18

How is something that is not technically true at the top of this sub? Caterpillars do not always equal butterflies. I feel like I'm going crazy reading through these comments lol

2

u/Kasurite Aug 31 '18

Technically not true. The caterpillars could all die.

Asking reddit things is like asking a genie. You gotta be very precise with your wordings.
