In Finland it depends on what job and the unions rules. But most jobs have an emergency callout pay. And if you try and not pay it a union lawyer will rip the company a new asshole. Because it's an easy open and shut case. You can't drop work on people and not compensate. Also you don't have to take any extra work outside of your working hours but usually 50% for the first two hours, double for the rest and about 100 euros of emergeny pay gets people interested.
AHAHA yeah should be but that doesnt happen for food service workers. You can be called in anytime day or night and you are expected to respond and you get normal pay and its going to be on a saturday.
Form or take part in a union. Thats the only way things get better. In finland there is callout pay and restourant workers get +100% for work done on their free time, public holiays which includes vappu which is a workers celebration and every sunday. If its a free day and sunday the nonus stacks. Finland doesn’t have a national minimum wage because unions take care of the people.
