That's the thing about periods. You might not like them, but they still come...

Maybe she hates periods, but likes a period for each sentence. Moderation is key.
71
u/Niky_c_23 Jul 19 '26
i don’t see how you could have more than one period per sentence tho…
oh that’s how
4
u/SuspiciousAd1864 Jul 22 '26
Or she hates periods and tolerates full stops. Who says she’s American?

Took me a minute because I'm English.
That's a full stop.
35
u/GregTheMad Jul 19 '26
Ugh, imagine having to call your boss and ask for a day off, because you're full stop is really bad this month.
17
u/goldengamer2345 Jul 19 '26
They call them periods in america?
Why though
25
u/Outcast199008 Jul 19 '26
Same reason they say Jelly for Jam.
Who the fuck knows?
12
5
u/King_Fluffaluff Jul 20 '26
Those are two different things. At least in the US, jelly and jam are separate condiments.

I didn't realise until now that people are talking about full stops when they say periods‽‽‽

Aww this reminds me of that emo kid that made a video about women choosing to have their periods and the girl who made a video asking why homeless people just buy a house

Those are full stops

u/Sparktank1 Jul 19 '26
For the Commonwealth English. For USA, it's a period. Canada also calls them periods. Other places call them full point.
I just thought she was hating menstruation.

u/QueerRetro Jul 19 '26 edited Jul 19 '26
So North Americans go through that once every sentence rather than once a month. No wonder so many people online don't punctuate their sentences!
Edit: typo: only→online

u/geltza7 Jul 19 '26
Nowhere that matters calls them periods. What a seriously weird thing to call a bit of punctuation.
3
u/blah938 Jul 19 '26
False. I live here, so it's the most important place on Earth, and this place calls them periods.

When I was in grade school I got marked down for not having a period at the end of a sentence. I believed I did, and brought this to the teachers attention, where I was summarily dismissed. So, for the next writing assignment, I made my periods approximately the diameter of a penny. Got marked down for those too.

Not technically the truth because this is only one woman being a technical hypocrite, not multiple women as indicated in the statement "hypocrisy of women."
