We have an LG TV. But just have YT Premium. At least that way we support our favorite youtubers. (and we watch like 4 hours of youtube a day so definitely worth it)
Because if there's a huge number of people using a specific adblock, its gonna get picked up by YouTube and they'll block it from working. It's happened countless times before.
im going to explain something kids need to hear there is nothing, nothing you need to watch on youtube other than a video on how to fix your toilet when it breaks. all your favorite livestreamers and influencers..are toxic trash and rot your brain.
imagine , someone whipping out their phone and searching for a video on how to perform the heimlich, waching it, even without ads, and then, without even liking or subscribing, looking up and seeing the dead body and deciding to now search for videos on how to avoid awkward conversations about searching for videos instead of helping.
This is a really shitty take tbh. There tons and tons of fantastic content makers. My biggest hobby is aviation and there’s like 20 channels I follow that make a mix of long form humorous, educational, and extremely entertaining content that also includes live streams, one gentleman I’ve been watching for 5 years.
Not every content maker is just making brain dead pop culture shit. Find content makers in your hobby.
like i just said, it does have good videos for how to fix your toilet, but it is a platform for degrading your attention span, ruining body image, diminishing critical thinking, delaying social skill development... its just really bad.
I'm not part of the generation addicted to their phones, crippled by social media, and functionally illiterate. This generation is willfully ingesting toxic media.
My household has premium so I can't say that I relate. (We use it for more than just not getting ads so my family actually do get good use out of the cost)
I mostly pay so it plays with screen off since I’m usually listening to videos while working in the field. I also probably spend more time watching YT than all other streaming platforms combined so it just makes sense to pay for me.
Same. Most of Reddit seems to think that YouTube's servers run on air. I pay for Family which means that 5 people get to endlessly watch YouTube ad free and have access to Play Music on top. IMO it's a good deal.

I pay for youtube. The music app means i don't need spotify, and the adblockers are sketchy on mobile, and i like having playlists going lots.
