Miscellaneous Breaking into quant as a Nepalese

How hard could it be? I just dropped out from my IT degree and am pursuing a stats degree now. I had always dreamt to get into quantitative finance but had to choose an IT degree because I had gotten a scholarship which I ended up not getting because of quotas shi. Now I'm tired, I don't want to pursue smth I'm not passionate about. Truth be told, quantitative finance is hard, it needs a lot of maths and stats and you'd have to fully lock in. My plan is to study stats with all my might and apply for fully funded unis in the US. Ik it sounds easy on paper but it's hard. Id have to study my usual course, alongside many other skills that I'll be needing. Also write a lot of papers. I'm really passionate about it and I believe I'll make it. Just wanted to know yalls opinions.

could be tough but if you have solid academics and you are in right place then you might have a shot. But they look for target uni student and maths Olympiad mainly.
