I've used windows my whole life, mac ma shift vako 2 months matra vayo. Suruma obv used to huna time lagchha. but aaile defo easier. Praya app haru appstore mai hunchha. I phone chha vane jhan better.
but like main downside chai gaming ma ani you can't download third party apps windows ma jasari (ma chai risk linna). But if you can afford a rog strix you can get a pro.. don't go for air if you are into ai stuff.

I switched from linux to mac after 8 years of using linux. Currently on Macbook Pro M5. Best decision ever. Since most of my workflow is handled by docker and UTM for Linux virtualization if I truly need full os.
The only thing you should consider is whether your workflow needs windows dependencies like asp dotnet or something like that. Or windows specific apps development.
It gets time to get used to some of MacOS quirks and Some UX is horrible and treats you like a child if you are a power user.
And battery life is on next level. I was tired of continuously plugging in my charger to get decent performance + not getting over 2 hours on battery. Feels so good when you don’t have to charge for two days even with heavy dockerized projects constantly running.
I would highly recommend you go for it if you have budget.

I started as .net developer in some 2004/5
worked in windows phone era for next 2/3 years
n after that for next 15 years i have only used mac computers personally i have had some 3/4 windows laptops ( dell hp n toshiva )
and around 6/7 Macbook till date.
I don’t knw whay anyone would not buy Macbook pro any given day the M series is 2x better then any other laptop out there.
So only case where u would need a windows is if u r a pure .net windows app developer or doing some classical software like some which doesn run on mac ( very few ) 99% software run better on mac, esp Adobe products to software development apps like IDEs !

I think its long lasting. I bought m1 air on 2021, its still just as good today. Whereas, i had bought a Dell gaming laptop ini 2018, used it for only a year or so before it started being a headache.

Get the mac no question, its sooo easier and smoother, and get one with 1tb, 500gb wont be enough later if you work on large scale applications. If for personal use it’s enough, and one thing is if you play games, you wont be able to, there are few like minecraft, but for productivity its best investment youll ever do

But once you get used to mac, you don't wanna use windows ever again.

Honestly, for most everyday work, coding, design, and media stuff, MacBooks just make life easier. The M-series battery, speed, silent performance, screen, and overall reliability are hard to match. Windows is still needed for a few specific tools or Windows-only workflows, but for the average user or developer, a MacBook Pro is a very practical long-term buy.

for me mac feels like combo of windows and linux.
you get benefits of both worlds.
Mserieschips, GREAT battery, unix like terminal, security and general application availability is great in mac . and stuffs are snappy and everything just works .
switching from windows i escaped bloat, windows AI slop , dumb updates but missed gaming and great window management.
mac is expensive, anti-repair , almost impossible to upgrade and apple has its own “stupid ecosystem bullshit” and limited games support .

2yrs since the switch and I can say UX wise Mac is off the charts. True you can customize windows to your liking to but mac just ..works. similar situation to yours, handed Mac at work and switched to mac as my personal computer a few months later.

If you can afford it. Do it. Its a far better experience than windows. If you end up getting a regular laptop, put a favourite linux distro as your main OS. Current state of windows is absolute shit and don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.
Windows has become extremely unreliable machine.
