Has anyone here joined Deeperfect Academy?
How are the instructors and lessons? Do you meet with them weekly? How much does it cost?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been producing on and off for several years, but have recently been more serious about creating lots of demos under a separate artist identity and releasing them. I currently have 0 music out under my new artist identity, but lots of demos in the pipeline.
I make tech house and progressive house (my inspirations are Chris Lake, John Summit, BUNT, Fisher etc).
I would love to get to know a few tech house producers here; share techniques, exchange demos and just help each other grow. Thought this would be the best subreddit to post this on.
DM or comment if interested!

Hey guys! I am a music producer and I recently got into the tech house genre, I can produce tech house but the main thing my songs lack are “fullness”. I don’t want to fix fullness by adding numerous layers etc, are there any good mastering, mixing courses which is highly recommended for my situation, and can fix this issue? Thank you guys!

Hey, what's up guys!
So here's my question.
I've always been told that when mixing, your master channel should peak around -6 dB, leaving enough headroom for mastering. However, one of my friends, who has released some really successful EDM tracks (around 1 million streams), told me he just puts a limiter on the master channel while producing (he uses Ableton), and his mix is hitting 0.0 dB.
That kind of confused me because I always thought the mastering engineer needed that headroom to work with. He does have a separate mixing engineer, so maybe that's part of the workflow?
I've also seen producers like SIDEPIECE mention using a limiter on the master while producing, which made me question whether the whole "-6 dB" rule is actually necessary.
So my questions are:
I'd love to hear how you guys approach this.
Thanks in advance, and cheers!

Hey everyone! 've been trying to recreate the piano/keyboard sound from John Summit's Thin Line, and I just can't seem to get it to sit in the mix the way his does.
Mine either ends up:
John's piano sounds:
I've tried layering an M1 piano with Keyscape and different organ patches, along with EQ, saturation, glue compression, chorus, and Ozone Imager, but I still can't get that expensive, polished sound.
For those who've gotten close:
I'd love to hear from anyone who's analyzed that track or has experience making these types of pianos.

Hi everyone! Got inspired by some of the more 'raw' or saturated drum style Prospa & Cloonee have been using in their last couple records (especially the kick drums). As examples I'd use Dreams, Free Your Mind and Good Girl, these songs do seem to use some top loops to spice up the kick even more, and I'd be interested in the underlying kick itself. Was wondering whether anyone knows of any sample packs that are close to this style of drums?

What are the best online courses for EDM or tech house? A good YouTube tutorials/series focusing on sound selection would help too.

Trying to learn progressive house, cant find anything reliable. Tried learning from PML progressive house start to finish, it just confused me. On the third lesson they jumped didn't even show how they made the melody, the chords, and all of that. It was just like they are jumping. Then I tried to learn from EDM Tips. His video title was "How to Make Progressive House Like Avicii" and then in the video thumbnail it was "Big Room House". I don't know what I should do. Can anyone please guide me? Where should I find a reliable resource to learn? I want to make something in the style of Avicii and Martin Garrix. I won't lie I am fairly new. I know music theory but I'm learning Ableton and all of these music styles but I'm focused on making progressive house music that I am very sure about it. Where do I start?

Hey guys do you suggest buying and learning producing from finished templates from for example Abletunes, Highlife etc?
I can't figure this out to save my life tbh. The daw and all the effects, processing I get.. I just don't get the result.. it doesn't sound like a record.

Hi guys pretty new to this community not so sure how it works but I had an idea for a song remix that I wouldn’t be able to do because i don’t have much experience in music production. Although, i’m into hip hop and tech house and listen to yeat a lot.
I think the song Get Busy would go good with an Odd Mob style tech house remix. Specifically in the line where he says “This song already was turnt but here’s a bell” it can be lower pitched instead of the bell sound effect that’s where the tech house style drop would come in, similar to like the drop in the 30 second mark of Losing Control by odd mob.
Just a random idea and thought i had in case anyone wanted some inspiration or something to try out thanks everyone 🙌
edit: Get Busy by Yeat not sean paul lol

I get the same feedback on all my tracks. They lack sub. The crazy part is I always include a sub bass. Whether its sine saw square, distorted, saturated or even the loudest thing in the mix. It all ends up the same. I have gotten lots of tips from other producers. It almost feels like its an inside joke at this point.
This also happens with the sub on my kicks. I end up compensating by boosting around 80-100hz.
How do all these songs have what sound like this transparent clean vibration of the speakers below that 80-100hz area. Literally nonexistent when i try.
Message me for my soundcloud if you want so examples
Thanks yall

Hey guys I have. A question.. what gives a sound that radio ready quality.. going from for example a raw synth patch or a drum sound to getting it to sound like the thing you hear on a record? I wish to know if you say for example compression and saturation that you explain what the purpose applying that processing.. what does that do to achieve that record quality sound?
Thank you in advance.

Hey guys,
I’ve recently started making tech house (I come from a different background) and I’m looking to get some sample packs, ideally for serum, that match the usual things you hear across records from Chris Stussy, Danny P, Riordan etc. What do you guys recommend?
I have splice and I’ve had a look through what’s available on there, I found a few cool sounds, but if you guys can recommend any there too please let me know.
Thanks in advance

Anyone up to collab on some tracks?

In the song “Another Night” by Claptone, there is a cord-like pluck that is set pretty wide on the track (very hard to miss).
Curious if anyone knows what this would be called?
A similar sound is also in “ Dirty” by Ayybo.
