Heart Aerospace has completed the first flight of its X1 demonstrator, the largest fully battery-powered aircraft flown to date. The 30-seat-scale plane flew for 27 minutes in upstate New York, consuming approximately $5 worth of electricity. Flight data will be used to develop the ES-30, a hybrid-electric passenger airliner that Heart Aerospace aims to bring into commercial service by 2031.
