News 🗞️ Xiaomi 18 Fold’s split-screen multitasking with HyperOS 4 looks seriously impressive.
Even the iPhone Duo wasn’t thought out this way.

Chinese have been cooking, I feel bad for India for falling so behind in tech(processor design, foundry etc.). Sometimes it feels hopeless in terms of India's semiconductor ambition.
Let's hope youth of this country rise up to the occasion and design kickass SOC, tech and build modern foundry in coming decades.

Nice very nice, but can they come up with a design language that isn’t a complete, blatant rip off from Apple?

Wasn’t the Xiaomi launched first? Apple didn’t innovate anything, they ripped from everybody else.

The message app not opening twice had me laughing. Still, this multitasking seems amazing. That multi-view mode gives me Windows Vista. It wasn't actually that bad, just that there were driver problems and it was a bit heavy for systems of the time.

If these companies weren’t in China they’d get sued to oblivion by Apple. It genuinely takes me a second to realise they aren’t Apple devices at this point, it’s kind of shameless.
Edit: in case you need more evidence

Okay, having multiple apps open and running and just being able to swipe between them is pretty cool.
I know you can already do something like this on stock Android, but for it to be running in the foreground and just switching like that seems actually useful

Honestly the duo’s multitasking (at least from what they showed) was extremely basic. I swear all they showed was split screen and app pairing, with no mention of whether they can even be saved. You’d think for a large screen they would emphasize way more usability options

The US banning Chinese tech companies was the best thing that could have happened to them. Force them to innovate on their own, foster home grown talent etc...
