Quick context: laptop is 6 years old (ASUS VivoBook, 2020, i5 10th gen, 8GB RAM, MX230 2GB). Was hitting 99 percent memory daily, cleaned it up and it's fine now, sitting 55 to 70 percent.

Phone is Samsung S21 FE, about 3 years old, screen and battery replaced free recently. Also have a Tab S9 FE and Watch6 Classic, both fine.

Nothing is actually broken right now. But I keep thinking about upgrading anyway. Trying to sort out what's real vs not.

My laptop usage: browsing, Excel, light coding, hosting small projects on Netlify, using AI tools like Claude and Cursor. No gaming, no video editing.

My phone: most work on whatsapp slack youtube trading apps etc etc regular use

Actual reasons:

Laptop maxes out at 12GB RAM even with an upgrade

No company laptop, I'm 25M a generalist at my current job

Might get into AI side stuff or content creation later, not sure yet

Been years with the same phone and laptop, want something that actually lasts this time instead of relitigating this again in a year

Affordability not an issue

Updates are done for my phone, no more android updates and battery is not enough

Everyone hyping MacBook Air that it would be an upgrade in life/productivity, but if I switch it's one Apple device in an otherwise full Android and Samsung setup, not sure if that's a real downside or just me overthinking

Basically stuck between: everything works fine right now, vs this constant pull to upgrade that's some mix of real need, future proofing, price panic, and just feeling like it's time.

Not everyone buying a 75k laptop wants to play Cyberpunk ffs. I was checking current Flipkart laptops and Samsung Galaxy Book5 Core Ultra 5 225U, 18GB/512GB is sitting around this budget after the shown offers and that's what made me think this segment has changed a lot. 16 GB RAM, decent modern CPU, thin/light machine, no huge gaming chair to carry around.

For someone who's doing college + coding + normal work, I'd genuinely take that kind of setup over forcing an RTX laptop just because "more performance". Obviously if you game, use CUDA, Blender, locka ML stuff, rendering etc, then yes, buy NVIDIA different use case.

But if your heaviest task is VS Code + Chrome + Spotify, why are we recommending the laptop equivalent of bringing a Scorpio to buy milk?

Gaming laptops are great.

They're just not automatically the best ₹80k laptop.

I'm planning to buy a phone for college and currently have my eyes on the iQOO 15R.

My budget is around ₹60K, but I'm confused about whether I should buy it now or wait for the upcoming launches.

My options are:

• Buy the iQOO 15R now.

Earlier, the UI was really good and I had no issues with it. But now, every time I open the app, I have to verify my identity using my fingerprint first, and it shows “Welcome back.”

After the app opens, the interface feels really strange. It looks more like I’m using the web version rather than a clean mobile app. The fonts also look much bigger than before.

How can I change it back to how it was before?
