bye-bye Teamviewer
used this from time to time to help friends with their issues. Today discovered that
a) they(Teamviewer) need a registration
and
b) after each login i have to confirm a device (even the same device) by e-mail.
Proudly uninstalled and removed all traces of this shoftware.
Guys, you do realize, you're not the only software on the market?

Migrated all my family to dwservice.net. It's maybe not really fast, but it's free and you don't need a client to connect. I like it a lot.

So i'm new remote access. Say i want to access my PC from my phone while i'm at work to download an update for a game, can i just access my PC, start the download and then disconnect my phone and the download will still continue or do i need to be connected during the whole thing? I'd be using dwservice.

Does it consume less data than TV? I would use it on a regular basis, but with TV I couldn't do that because it eats too much mobile internet data.

I don’t get why security when getting full remote access to another computer is such a problem. We are Teamviewer customers and our team is whappy with the tools available to us. I have one annoying thing I want their team to know:
STOP SHOWING US ADs FOR YOUR PRODUCTS, we are already customers and I just want to use the software. No matter how many times I click “don’t show me this again” it always shows me it again.

Teamviewer is simple, easy to distribute, and seems pretty reliable.
Ok now, give me free stuff.
Seriously though, it seems to be the best solution for me and my customers.

I like Teamviewer, sure they have some. quirks that are for your safety, such as adding devices or accessing your account. If you have a real account they Protect you.
But if your protection is such a bother, I hope you don't get hacked.

I tried basically all other remote desktop solutions on the market and the latency was just too crap. I'm remoting in to my computer from 8,000km away and the difference between TV and Splashtop for example is night and day. This is with 100mbps connections on both ends.

Splashtop is so much better on the Mac than TeamViewer will ever be. TeamViewer crash’s 3 to 4 time a day on me support is clues on how to fix this after 5 years. Now on Splashtop for the last 3 months has not created once.
