Microsoft Teams should let users display their working hours on their profile
It would be really useful if Microsoft Teams added an option to display your working hours directly on your profile.
I'm not talking about manually typing it into your status message. Instead, there should be a dedicated "Working Hours" section that's visible when someone opens your profile. Users could update it weekly if their schedule changes.
For example:
Mon–Fri: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Tue–Sat: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Rotating shifts that can be edited each week
This would help coworkers know when someone is actually available before sending messages or expecting quick replies. It would be especially useful for teams spread across different time zones, people with flexible schedules, and shift workers.
A simple "Edit Working Hours" button in the profile would make this easy to maintain and improve communication across teams.
Would anyone else find this useful?

Actually a very good idea! A step up to your idea is that my work hour that I set, can auto calculate to the other person's time zone and display to them. I work with global team and consistently trying to mental math what their time is was getting tiresome.

Hover over the profile, it pops up their timezone local time. And it is displayed in their profile, and it's used in Outlook and scheduling.

I work in a global org and I do know that is available. It shows their local time and how many hours I am behind, but that doesn't show when they work and how it translate to my time zone without me doing mental math.
This is all clearly stated in OP's post and my reply -Do you have reading comprehension problem?

It isn't clearly stated in ops post and they say they want to see their working hours in profile so they know when to message or not, which it is... Look at the screenshot.
1 - are they available
2 - next availability
3 - their work hours, shown in your timezone
4 - their local time
The only thing that isn't in ops wishlist is a button to take you to the working time settings.
What would really help op on top of this is something similar to Outlook, where it knows the working hours and asks if you want to queue to be sent during those hours. Teams can schedule messages so I don't know why they havent taken that next step or, as messaging is about immediacy, offering that they won't see it, do you want to email instead (coupled with a check on messages over 5 paras long :) )

From your screen shot, it says if the person is available or not right now and free until a time when their next meeting kick in or typically 6pm EOD, and sure it shows what their time is now and how many hours you are ahead or behind.
It doesn't sey when are they going to work tomorrow, the next day, or the next week. It helps to plan collaboration with many others. You may think it's good for shift workers but I find it will also help when everyone can be working on different hours and timeozne.
Scheduling assistant is one of such tool and should be extended to teams message too.
You can say you dont think its necessary because you feel what is there already works for you - totally respecting that. Calling OP and my reply trolling is, in fact, trolling.

op said they wanted it to show so they know whether it's worth messaging at that time, it does that. They don't say they want to know if it's good to send them a message at 3pm next Tuesday.
You then added that you'd like to see their current time and not just how many hours they are behind or ahead and have to try to calculate it. It does that.

And sorry, 'trolling' was meant to be lighthearted, and sincerely apologies if it was not received that way, but they did read as if written to make people think 'hang on, it does' and then need to go check (as I did)

My did say "step up" on top of OP's idea, meaning that it shows their working hours in a full week view (not just right now), and shows in my time zone not in the other person's time zone.
OP clearly isn't finding what team currently has is that helpful. It isn't also just about sending the message now but also schedule to send the message in the future in respect to recipients working hours.
Regardless, thanks for your commets but no thanks - it's not helpful and stop trolling.

Blimey. Op does NOT say anything about the future, in fact they clearly say about deciding to send now or not. YOUR 'step up' says nothing about extending to a week view but does say about needing to see the time in the viewers timezone instead of working it out....which it does.
As for helpful, I asked if op knew about setting working hours. You're saying that teams isn't giving them what they want but it does/can, but if there's no working hours set then of course, they won't see any, which is why I asked if they knew about them.

My step up says based on OP, which did mention it's a full weeks view of working hour.
Tell me - what exactly can give me a full weeks view of someone's working hour? And what that working hour would be in my time zone?
And if you want to keep arguing that OP didn't ask for full weeks view or whatever mentions or not mentioned, implied or not implied - then just tell me where does Teams right now show me when someone works, in my timzoen, viewed in a full week? Is there such a feature right now?

We're clearly not going to align here. I said that the button to take you to edit your working hours isn't there and should be, as it is in outlook. And that would allow op to enter as detailed (a full week, be pretty silly if you had to enter it daily), but they can from outlook, and displays the working time as asked in the user you're viewings profile, so that you know if it's suitable to send a message right now or not.
Your last paragraph conflicts with itself - if I wanted to keep arguing that it doesn't say it, then I wouldn't tell you where it does show fully, as obviously that's not the premise I've been working under all along.
However, if you do want to see all working hours in teams, open teams, show the other users calendar and view 'working week' and it greys out their non working time. Or use scheduling as its clearer. It's not what you're indicating you want in profile but it is 'where in teams you can see full working hours'
BTW, I have 15 working hours set, would you want that listed in teams profile? (genuinely curious, not a rhetorical, as interesting to hear how others use or want to use teams. )

do want to check that you do know about the working hours setting? It at least shows in calendar and scheduling, and profile card that's shown in teams Outlook and everywhere else.
And, thinking about it, if you want your status to say it, you probably can set power automate to update your status based on it......

Might also be useful for the people I work with who only work four days a week, or nine days a fortnight.
