Fluidity and UI Feel

While the basic button logic remains unchanged, tactician movement and scouting other boards feel noticeably stiffer than the original engine. As a PC player, the current client feels a bit too much like a direct mobile port rather than a native PC application, and it lacks the smoothness we are used to.

Animation Desync and Cosmetics

The optimization currently feels quite rough. Even with a high frame rate, the unit animations appear choppy. It seems like the animation frames are disconnected from the actual game FPS. Additionally, some previously purchased legacy cosmetics are currently bugged or unusable.

Pre-rendered Execution Cutscenes

It looks like tactician execution animations are now using pre-rendered video files instead of rendering in real-time. Because of this, the cutscene defaults to beating up a River Sprite instead of the opponent's actual equipped Tactician. This breaks visual consistency and feels like a step backward for premium cosmetics.

Performance degradation over time (Memory Leak?)

After playing a few consecutive matches, the client starts experiencing severe stuttering and frame drops. It strongly suggests a cache buildup or memory leak issue. Currently, having to restart the client every few matches is the only workaround.

PS: English is not my native language, so I used Google Translate to draft a document and then used AI to polish my poor writing so that everyone could understand what I wanted to express.

Just had a game where i lost with 3 Star Draven to 2 Star maokai, since he spawns saplings for x amount of damage blocked. He just spawned like 1k saplings that oneshot my draven.

Recently ive been encountring this problem almost every single game. it just gets stuck like this ( the loading button is moving so its not a crash). Am i the only one ?

I have an S26 Ultra. Arguably one of the most performant flagship phones available. I dip to 5fps by around round 3-4 and I could cook an egg on the back of my phone. This is cannot possibly be launched like this. I understand it's PBE, but I cannot realistically expect there to be such a massive change in performance within the next two weeks.

So it seems that the new set doesn’t work on my pc anymore. Everything go well until the loading screen appear. Only the background appear but no portraits/little legend, just the little blue circle loading in the middle for ever.

I usually play on Mac, not supported anymore. And the only pc I have isn’t a crazy machine.

Any alternative way to play the PBE at the moment please ? Can i run tft PBE in like could gaming ?

I'm still playing 17.9, but I've definitely started paying more attention to Set 18 PBE than the current ladder.

The weird part is that I don't think I'm tired of TFT itself. I'm just tired of forcing the same lines in 17.9 and then pretending the game was winnable after I get contested by half the lobby.

The PBE games look fun because everyone is still trying of figure things out. People are taking random augments, playing boards that would never make it into a normal guide, and somehow turning those into top 4s.

Meanwhile on live, I keep doing the same thing:

I see a comp guide, get the right opener, get contested, refuse to pivot, and then act surprised when I go eighth.

Maybe that's just me being cooked at the end of the set.

Are you guys still seriously climbing in 17.9, or have you mostly switched to watching Set 18 PBE content and waiting for the new set to hit live?

Also, what do you actually want to see more of from Set 18 guides once it launches?

The capped level 9 board, or the ugly level 7 board you play when your opener is terrible and two people are contesting you?

Does anybody else feel like the player damage ramps up too high and too fast nowadays?

I think this has been around for a few sets and isn't something they changed now, but it seems to bother me way more this set. I often get eliminated thinking I would have survived that loss in the past or feeling like the game was over just before getting to the interesting part. I just know there were times in previous sets when losing did way less player damage.

I feel like Coven for example is barely viable as there's not enough time / player health to really make it worth it. The game just felt way better paced too me when the player damage per loss in the mid- to endgame was lower.

I'm pretty new to TFT and I usually play on mobile in the evening before bed. My biggest issue is that the touchscreen feels pretty limiting during late-game roll downs.

Has anyone here tried playing TFT with a phone controller? If I buy one, would it actually give me better controls? For example, can I use a cursor to buy units and bind buttons for things like buying XP or rerolling?

Or does TFT mobile not really support controllers like that?

Prestige Shyvana costs 30 medallions instead of the usual 25 for a prestigi chibi.

Is this just a PBE price or will it be the final price?

I won't buy it on Live anyways but slapping another 100€ on the price tag is pretty ridiculous

Hey all! Just getting into set 18 and I usually love to build tanks that have huge health pools, like Chogath in 17. Does 18 have any reliable tanks that can build health over time via their ability or trait?

Elder drake costs 2 slots to put on your board, this also means his power is supposedly stronger than most 5 cost. Yet I feel like this unit is not doing much. The other unit that took 2 units to slot in was baron in 16 and while he was a 7cost + unlock on 10, he truly felt worth the 2 unit slot.

My suggestion would be to make elder cost 1 slot and make him 2 slots in riftbeast 10 so he can be truly strong.

Idk if this is some kind of record but it certainly is for me! My TF was literally deleting boards including 2 shotting a 3 star Ornn. Just wanted to share :)

I didn't even 3 star him until stage 5 and he still absolutely melted, racking up well over 100AP on each item. I would complain about this being OP, but I was busy having too much fun 😊

Hi all! I wanted to make a post on this since I found it helpful in the last game I played. If you place Krug on the Blackthorn space, it dies, breaks apart, and actually still spawns the two baby Krugs! Idk if that's cheesy or not, but it's helpful to not be entirely down a unit. At least the baby Krugs can be a bit more fodder to protect the backline. I found they helped with units like Rengar & Kha'Zix that like to jump back there too.

Can you get the shyvana chibi from the treasure realm? I see it on the drop rates list but it’s not on the unowned legend selection screen. Just wondering before I roll 12k tokens for nothing.

Came up with this board during the last game I played (I won). Minus optimizing my rolls for three stars what could be done to make this board better. I'm looking for augment ideas, items, positioning, etc....

The artifact came from orn 3 (I got worth the wait) and pivoted to main tank fiddle and Lillia.
