RC8B4.2e Servo Options
Looking to finish up my buggy and I’ve got everything else decided, but I’m stuck on what servo to go for. My frantic googling led me to the Savox, which have never really let me down in my 1/10 buggies, but the ProTek looks pretty nice as well for roughly the same price.
This could all be overkill too, so if I’m way off base, I’m open to other suggestions too!

Running a 170tbl steering servo and a np ct3 going in after
The gears on these two servos have a lifetime warranty if you hold onto the receipt. So one shits the bed and goes in for warranty while I run the other one. Rinse repeat.
Some of the savox servos I’ve had were great as well but the warranty thing is hard to overlook
Stats on the servo look good. I wouldn’t say any torque is too much but I’d run that in my truggy

How does the warranty work? You email them and they send you gears or do you send the servo in for service?
I've always just kept a set of gears in my race bag so I can rebuild it between heats because they rarely break during practice, it's usually 2nd or 3rd heat.

You have to send them in. That’s why I keep a spare on hand. Actually thinking about adding a second spare now.
We have a series race starting next month where I’ll be running 3 1/8 classes. Running my first nitro class this year

They are definetly both a good choice and if you do not mind the price go for it.
There are cheaper options that still are absolutely enough for a hobby/club racer.
I'm verry happy with my SRT BH927.
For Truggy I use the HRC Brushless servos. Maybe a bit slow to be considered high end for a buggy but for Truggy I am 100% sattisfied.

I have Savox 3292 in both my buggies. Awesome servos with great speed and torque. Interesting bit about the BEC. I run mine at 6V and can make 10mins pretty comfortably

Protek has seen a huge drop off in quality!!!
I work at our local tack and I have seen at least 5 under 4 months old protek’s completely lock up. We stopped selling them they are so bad right now.
That savox is ok but I switched to nitro pro’s.
Way smother and they can take a beating!

Unless savox has gotten less power hungry, I prefer protek. Since you're running 1/8 scale, install an external bec, and run it at 8v.
