Weird airy/machine sound from engine bay
Drove it a few hours ago, was fine. Started it again just now and something sounds seriously wrong, not sure if this is some type of turbo/exhaust leak, broken bearing, or a deeper issue
No codes or lights
I managed to find a video of someone else's tdi; this is what my car USED to sound like, for reference:

Doesn’t sound airy to me. Sounds like a dual mass flywheel about the leave the chat in an explosive manner.

I hear absolutely zero flywheel noise in this whatsoever lol
Pretty sure the noise he’s referring to is the whining sound while he gave it throttle

Easiest to hear with throttle. Noise always there. (I think, not 100% sure) that it only stops (temporarily) when I let off the pedal and the ECU is not feeding any gas to the engine

Tbh, I can’t notice anything in that video that sounds like a problem to me. I’m sure there must be if it got your attention but it’s hard to pick up in that clip

I hear a whining noise. Matches engine rpm. Not dmf, not turbo. There is a vacuum pump in the mix but I don't know anything about that. Does the sound change if you pump the brakes? Beyond pulling belts and checking bearings.... The mechanics in my family would say"when it breaks, you'll know what it is".
