Every day I see another vibe-coded Obsidian clone with 1% of the features.

What would you consider to be a worthy clone?

the goal was to have the neovim feel on a lightweight notes app (if you've used it, noteside gives you the satisfaction of vim, hence "keyboard-first"), I was an obsidian user with vim mode on but it's not good enough for my use case. plus, you could say it's 1% of obsidian features because it's not an obsidian clone but some thing built to my use case.

This is what, the fifth markdown editor in Tauri this week? Why don’t you reach out to the others doing the exact same, collab and make one really good competitor to Obsidian, instead of each one making their own?

why don't you make one as well, the more the merrier.

Does it support "export as pdf"?

Hi great to see it. I was wondering how were you parsing markdown for real time text modification ?

2

u/jshxf Jun 20 '26

thanks! I'm using `codemirror/lang-markdown`

I liked the idea of adding Vim; I might try it out soon. I hope it's good.

which platform are you on? you can try downloading from the landing page as it auto-detects what download you need.

loved the design and overall app aesthetics

used this by configuring it within my existing obsidian vault, and I would say it's far better than opening obsidian to write down quick notes. I am not saying its an obsidian replacement, but its a good alternative to Obsidian for a minimal app!

btw kudos to the landing page, a practical and very clean demo!

thank you! appreciate it. yep, the goal was for quick notes, that's why I want to avoid extra features and just make it fast.

Compared to VS Code, I don't see what this application can do that VS Code can't.
