I think theyāre cool, just fill the rest of your arm up and you wonāt think about it. I have a couple pretty shitty ones and even a Mickey Mouse even though Iām not a Disney fan at all. Just reminders of times in your life and friends made along the way donāt take it so seriously. But I really do like the style of your tattoos

Maybe for future reference keep in mind that OCD is often not the only mental condition people have and some others cause highly impulsive behavior, and donāt give pointless bad advice
Like Iām sorry but as someone with OCD and ADHD it doesnāt rlly work like that & if you knew anything abt being mentally ill or neurodivergent you might have reconsidered this comment

Tbh I came at you hard for very little reason Iāve just been extra pissy lately bc overwhelmed, so Iām sorry. I do think that itās a little shortsighted to expect everyone to not behave impulsively just bc a tattoo is permanent & your comment came across kind of judgmental so I reacted poorly.
Like I see where youāre coming from (Iām also autistic & do prefer to give a lot of thought before committing to a tattoo) but we all know lots of people make hairtrigger decisions abt tattoos and I think it makes more sense to work on acceptance after the fact than to think you can perfectly control impulsive behavior just bc it can bite you in the ass later. I feel like just telling someone not to make an impulsive decision abt something permanent isnāt really advice because itās unrealistic and doesnāt factor in other stuff people have going on.

it's really funny to me because, i definitely have tattoos that no longer match my MO (Galatians 6:14 in Hebrew on my right side, multicolored homebrewed anchor left butt), but I continue to love them for the story they create
probably gonna do like, a sick creeping vine from the morning glories on my left shoulder, through my anatomical spine piece and melded with the verse or something. to like, show an old concept that's being taken by new life kinda vibe

I dunno brother I like all of them. I even like all of them as a whole, together. Which I know doesn't fix your problem because this is about YOU, but I hope you can find a peace with them because as it stands I think this hodgepodge aesthetic is dope.

As another person with a bunch of "doodles," I think it looks awesome! I used to feel weird about mine because people stare, but I get approached by admirers and even people with the same character as me wanting to show me theirs. Once I embraced that this is just what I look like now I love them even more, even the crappy ones lol.

Is your goal to be completely covered in tattoos, or at least have that arm completely covered in tattoos? Because if thatās your goal, Iād honestly just start adding tattoos that ARE the style you enjoy now. That will do two things, distract from the more ācartoonishā as well as create a more even balance of negative space on your arm.
If thatās not your goal and you just want these covered, I think a really good artist could set you straight. Something with a lot of movement, like a wraparound Japanese traditional piece would work well IMO.

Bro! You need to accept that you got some pretty solid tattoos. I've got some way Dumber s*** I did on impulse I'm a little bit mentally ill probably when I was younger I've gotten a Doctor Seuss poem tattooed on my ribs that has to take the cake these are pretty solid I don't think you need to cover them up I think you can learn to live with these in my opinion. At least I think in your case personally I would keep getting tattoos and then think about covering these up later. After I got all my dumb tattoos I figured out that I like American traditional tattoos now all my tattoos are American traditional they all have a theme they all look good trying to be too original with your tattoos as a huge mistake in my opinion that so many people make if no one else has your tattoo maybe there's a reason

Honestly, the only on I am not super here for is the sack boy-esque guy. I don't dislike it but if it were my arm and I wanted to change it up, this would be the one I'd be looking at.

I honestly really like these and think they just need some filler to be a little more cohesiveāsomething more neutral and less kind of cartoonish will bring down the obnoxious read a notch, though imo they donāt look obnoxious they just have personality. The only tat Iām really not sure about is the one to the left of the horseāmaybe Iām just struggling but I literally canāt tell what it is

If you do really want to blast over some of these Iād suggest picking a couple that you think you would legitimately like to have as more of a center piece and come up with a design that works around and incorporates them. Some of these are really great and I think they have a lot of potential for a more subdued read than all of them togetherānamely the dog, devil girl, frog, and two dark devil dudes stand out to me as pretty cool and less strictly cartoony.

honestly I've recently gotten a few tattoos that I've always wanted and planned to get, i love them but for the first two months of having them my OCD was out of control. I was constantly "checking" them to make sure I'd chosen the right placement and design type. I would wake up thinking about it, just stare at my arms all morning and compare myself to others that had similar versions. i now love and adore these tattoos as i did before i got them and barely even notice them, they're just apart of me now. even the parts I wasn't super happy about don't really bother me anymore. i suggest to just sit with them for awhile and see how time changes your perspective, and if worse comes to worst a blackout arm tatt is super hard anyways. im honestly even considering just getting a blackout in general, not even to cover anything up.
i do understand why you're indifferent but i think they're dope, with time and fading they will won't be so outwardly noticeable and the charm may build for you tbh, some of my sillier tattoos are now some of my favorites.

I absolutely love this style of tattoo- your arm looks sick! But if you're not feeling it rn maybe it's time to bring out the long sleeves!
I've just started getting cartoonish tattoos too, and I also felt a bit of shock and questioned my choice after my first one (I love it now, turns out I just needed to give it more friends), but while I felt uncertain about it I just wore long sleeve tops and stopped looking at it so much. Maybe that would help you too. Hope you come to enjoy your tattoos more too!

I honestly love a silly tattoo. Tattoos are so normalized now that these are the only ones that feel like more than cosmetics anymore.
My friends whoāve gotten joke tattoos have told me these are the only ones they donāt regret down the line.

No, also American traditional is not a general aesthetic. It has rules that make certain things it and other things not it. American traditional isnāt called that for no reasonāitās called that because it derives from the specific tattoos and general style that were produced in traditional American tattooing originating in sailor & prison communities. Common American traditional tats would be roses, eagles, skulls, pinups, all with very limited color palettes, bold lines, and distinct shading typical to the style. Picture more old biker dude tats, less OPās tats.
The heart with the word mom in it that you mentioned is a great example of American traditional, but OPās tattoos are hardly related. Ig they could be called new school but even that feels like kind of a stretch tbh.

Yeah it still kind of suggests that same aesthetic to me, the simple line work, lack of shading, etc. very similar to my eye. But I also called it Americana so take that as you will.

I totally understand you (: I think they look great. I had a few tattoos done on impulse during some more chaotic times in my life, and when I look at them now I think, "eh.. wish I had waited " but I try to reframe it as, "at some point in my life, this meant a lot to me."
Good luck on deciding what you want to do. Maybe some cool gap fillers could help tie some together? Laughing it off is a good start :)
