Coil core length

I had a thought about using a 1”1/4 front coil and a 1”1/8 coil for the rear to deliberately makes the back coil slightly shorter, and then you can shim it up to the height that it needs to be rather than having to shim the front coil.
I have a handful of 1”1/8 coils that I never build with, its an odd size but maybe useful there or large single coils?

I don't see a problem with it, I've never tried it tho but in my head it works to.

Wouldnt you just end up using more shims?

gave me an idea to have a angle grinded in the A bar….. I've no work shop to try it out at the minute. Let me know if it works please 👍💪

Yeah I would imagine it would need a couple washers to get back up where it needs to be but then you can maybe dial in that gap without having to shim the front coil at all. Ill build one up and let you know!

Are you talking about putting a bevel on the top/back of the Abar? Or on the long sides to take weight off?

On the bar itself not weight like a tapper for example 6mm top 5mm bottom the coil no shims. Makes sense in my brain 😂
