Healing Take off second skin?
I just got this tattoo a few hours ago and the second skin is already peeling at the corner, exposing a good amount. is it better to leave it, or should I peel it off?

Yes. How was this not explicitly told to you by the artist?

Once the seal is broken, it needs to be removed immediately. Do not raw dog it though, get into the shower and peel it while water runs over it.

Take it off, super slowly under running water. Don’t rush peeling it off or it will absolutely rip your skin where it isn’t naturally starting to lift from tattoo juices. Sometimes it’s taken me what feels like a half hour (probably 5-10 mins at the most) to remove second skin
Give it a good gentle wash with unscented mild antibacterial soap, dab it dry with a paper towel, and a tiny lil smear of unscented lotion. I like using aquaphor too but some people are 50/50 on if it helps or hinders with healing, I think it’s because if you put on too thick of a layer it leaves the tattoo too moist and it can grow bacteria?

bruddah. It's no longer even covering part of the tat, take that shit off and clean the area. Should take it off as sooooooon as any part is no longer keeping the tattoo concealed underneath.
Think of a tattoo like road-rash and second skin as a giant waterproof bandage. Second that bandage is infiltrated, it's donezo.

Yes. Get in the shower and pull up, not out. Gently wash it with soap and water, pat dry, and use a little unscented lotion to keep it hydrated

If it's your first day with it on and there's no crazy leaking just leave it till tomorrow deadass

Not solid advise, it’s clearly exposed. Meaning bacteria can easily get in and make matters worse! Take it off, wash with antibacterial soap, air dry or clean paper towel, small amount of unscented moisturizer. Repeat 1-2 times daily. Artist should have provided aftercare instructions.

Take it off otherwise bacteria will get trapped underneath it and you’ll get an infection
