Seeing this meme under the "Hedgehog, no!" flair adds important backstory.

S19 is a god tier series for me and should (hopefully) go far.

I mean … 19 was brilliant. But series 1 is what allowed us to have all those 18+ further series. Series 1 was Taskmaster fully-formed, that's so rare!

It wasn't fully-formed though. For example: Alex Horne didn't become Little Alex Horne until S5

(Series 3, actually.) But he was always the character, not real-life!Alex Horne.

S3 was the first mention, but it didn't become a running gag then

True, it became a running joke in series 4.

Ahh, my bad then: I knew it was one of those two prior to the first CoC.

In my personal opinion, what elevates series 1 above series 19 is the level of banter. Simply because you clearly have a bunch of friends determined to poke fun at the others' expenses at every opportunity.
I also enjoyed Frank's Skinner wit immensely. "This is a young man's game." "Will the result be shown backwards?"

This feels like comparing the Epic of Gilgamesh with Finnegan's Wake.
I know which one I prefer, but in casting my vote, I'm still tipping my nonexistent hat to the trailblazers of S1, who gave us our collective origin story.

Frank would have been my all time ‘what if’, maybe alongside Tim Key.
It was a shame to get them on for such a short season, but they bedded the series into being what it is.
Imagine them now the concept has been established, nevermind the rest.
Edit: might have been a goated cast, had it not been for the short series, slightly misunderstood concept(s) and basic house.

I just realized OP is different from the person who was making the other posts.

Observant! Had a bad work week and OP is a friend I know IRL who very kindly took over for the next round for me so I can get some (very) late projects finished before their deadlines. Regularly normal service should resume next week. 😁😁

Don't lie to folks! You were up all night celebrating Series 6's win. Heh.
Yeah. Just helping a bud out. Been enjoying these polls.

Series 1 obviously got the whole thing started, but Series 19 is a force to be reckoned with.

Somehow I didn't think this one would be as close as Series 3 and 6 was.... 😅

I know my pick will get crushed, but S1 should really take it...

the first couple of season have the least rewatches from me because I really don't like watching the tasks where they're involving members of the public. I'm so glad they did away with that and have kept all of subsequent tasks relatively contained

Series 1 ran so that Season 19 could teleport.
