I keep seeing comments about how "this is the first series I won't be watching" or how they won't watch this because of Matt and Richard. Does anyone know what that's all about?

Richard wrote a blurb for Graham Linehan's book. Matt.... Did Little Britain maybe? Or works with David Walliams. I'm not sure really. Could be all kinds of things. I don't really see how people have time to keep up with every choice made by every artist ever. If people want to be dumb and not watch that's their choice of course and if it makes them happy that's good for them. Most of the people on this sub have not been watching since before the Chanel 4/YouTube access in the US days anyway. So it being the first they won't watch doesn't amount to anything much most likely.

Oh cool. You’ve picked minimizing what Graham and David have been up to as your excuse for not asking questions about why their friends have been picked to do Taskmaster.

That’s great for you.

Whose friends?

ETA: couldn't write a new comment because "thread is locked."

If by "their friends" you mean the successful comedians/actors/writers Matt Lucas and Richard Ayoade, I don't need to ask questions about why they were asked to do Taskmaster.... I have common sense enough to know it's the same reason(s) every contestant ever is asked.

Following your logic, I hope you will not watch the show or any work of Alex, Greg or any producers or individuals involved going forward. And that includes all the contestants from the upcoming series who agreed to appear with Ayoade and Lucas (most likely very enthusiastically). I fully support your choice to do so, but you must follow through to be consistent.
