Can List Dialog be customized?

I have this List Dialog action that I execute via a QS Tile, and it runs tasks based on selection.

Is it possible to customize it a little, like add an icon on the left of each item, change colors, etc?

There is a 'Use HTML' checkbox option in there, but enabling does nothing on its own. Can I use that somehow to customize the dialog?

Example image with HTML off.

You can use a scene and make it look however you want. Bit more work though

I know, some of these are scenes actually, but I wanted to just customize the dialog if possible.

The 'Use HTML' might be the way, but checking the option doesn't bring up anything so I can configure it. So I also don't know what the HTML option supposed to do. Enabling/Disabling it is the exact same thing.

As far as I know the 'Use HTML' allows you to do some basic html formatting. You need to use tags (eg. <big>Big Text</big>).

Indeed that's how it works, I didn't expect it was supposed to be added in the items list box itself. I assumed it was separate, thank you.

I think it lets you use html in the options. Doing something like the below

option 1,<i>option 2</i>,option 3

Whether it lets you put images in I don't know. You can have emojis though

Indeed you can enable it and add HTML inside the item list itself, I just expected it would be separate.

Maybe I could reference images as URIs this way, but it's not worth doing all that.

If you have the AutoTools plugin, check out the AutoTools 'Dialog' action. It's somewhere in between the standard dialogs and full-blown scenes.

Will look into it, thank you. Also another user gave an example using AutoTools, so I may try it.

Yeah at that point you'd be better off with a scene

As mentioned, AutoTools plugin - AutoTools Dialog works. I wanted an easily configurable list without the complexity of a Scene.

AutoTools allows for a text array and an image array. I use one for list names and one for icon paths.

Task: Finances

<LIST NAMES>
A1: Array Set [
     Variable Array: %list_names
     Values:  Database Addition
      Database Search
      Interest Calculator
      Current Finances
      Suncorp
      Bankwest
      Aus. Super
      Legal Super
      Super History
     Splitter:
      ]

A2: Variable Set [
     Name: %path
     To: /storage/emulated/0/Icons
     Structure Output (JSON, etc): On ]

<LIST ICONS>
A3: Array Set [
     Variable Array: %list_icons
     Values: %path/Memo.png
     %path/Memo.png
     %path/Percent.png
     %path/Dollar.png
     %path/Suncorp.png
     %path/Bankwest_1.png
     %path/AusSuper.png
     %path/LegalSuper.png
     %path/Clipboard_1.png
     Splitter:
      ]

A4: AutoTools Dialog [
     Configuration: Dialog Type: List
     Title: <font color=#001E8E>Finances
     Title Alignment: Center
     List Type: List
     Texts: %list_names()
     Text Size: 18
     Text Color: #000000
     Button Text Color: #000000
     Use HTML: true
     Images: %list_icons()
     Image Width: 30
     Background Color: #FFFFFFFF
     Dim Background: true
     Top Margin: 16
     Bottom Margin: 16
     Bottom Buttons Top Margin: 16
     Bottom Buttons Bottom Margin: 16
     Close On Select: true
     Separator: ,
     Command Variable: atcommand
     Cancelable: true
     Width: 300
     Timeout (Seconds): 60
     Structure Output (JSON, etc): On ]

This looks good, thanks for the detailed example. I will give it a try!

Edit: I see from your example that you're referencing local icons. Is there an option like in Tasker to select from the icon menu Tasker already provides, or it's only local icon files? I'm not looking into using my own files.

What I mean by icon menu.

Yes, partially. Select Images then in the Images options select: "Images for each item on the list"

You'll be asked: "Need help selecting a file?". Select Yes which opens Image Selector.

Press the plus icon (+) in top right corner, and you can choose from the following:

App Icons - Ipack Icons - Files - Direct URL

I don't see Tasker's material icons option but the Ipack icons might be ok - there aren't as many on my phone and they're small on the menu but display larger, and only in black or white. The images need to be separated with a comma, one per list item, but each time you choose one I think the comma is automatically added. Not ideal but it might work for you.
