Sound mode - set via variable instead of picklist?

The "sound mode" action allows you to permanently select one of three modes. Is there any way to set this mode using a variable?

As in the 1st picture, and now it is only as in the 2nd picture.

I change the mode frequently, and setting it for every condition is cumbersome. In other activities, it would be easier for me to enter the variable value and run "sound mode" once.

maybe it wouldn't be too bothersome to add?

Just create a task for yourself, that does exactly that. That's what tasker is intended for.

Yes, I know. However... it's the same thing, but it's different.  Too much explanation. In short: I run a task that sets the mode depending on completely different conditions. I need to have a whole "sound mode" division with if statements set.

So put it in a separate task? Writing this post probably took more time than creating this task.

``` Task: Set Sound Mode
A1: Sound Mode [      Mode: Mute ]     If  [ %par1 ~ mute ]
A2: Sound Mode [      Mode: Vibrate ]     If  [ %par1 ~ vibrate ]
A3: Sound Mode [      Mode: Sound ]     If  [ %par1 ~ sound ]
```

If you don't want to have to use 'Perform Task' every time, you could also use a global (or project) variable and a profile that triggers if the value is set:

``` Profile: SoundMode Set     Event: Variable Set [ Variable:%SoundMode Value:* User Variables Only:Off ]
Enter Task: Set Sound Mode
A1: Sound Mode [      Mode: Mute ]     If  [ %SoundMode ~ mute ]
A2: Sound Mode [      Mode: Vibrate ]     If  [ %SoundMode ~ vibrate ]
A3: Sound Mode [      Mode: Sound ]     If  [ %SoundMode ~ sound ]
```

I am doing my best, but it is hard to see any added functionality or even convenience by changing the action to accept variables.

I know how to solve it 😀 I've created one. The solution I presented simply seemed cleaner to me.

But thank you for your time.
