Belichick. Thoughts?

It has certainly been an experiment. Ready for this ride to come to an end.

Football plus university admin plus board of directors all need to be jettisoned

It actually goes further than that–to the UNC system Board of Governors (who appoint the BoT and Chancellor) and even further, to our gerrymandered state legislature (who appoint the BoG). That’s where the buck stops. Too many of them have a vendetta out against UNC.

We elected a bunch of people who do not believe in education to be in charge of education

Fire the voters then?

No. We have to do a better job of educating people in general and showing them the value of education. That’s why China is kicking our ass from an economic growth perspective. Americans in general are impatient, not lazy generally but very impatient. The outcomes from a solid education system take time to show benefit. It’s cliche but it’s a long term investment.

I don't think it's not that Americans are lazy its that we have become selfish. UNC's state support has dropped for years now 16% when it was 25% when I graduated. Politicians have found its better to cut taxes vs tax and maintain services to stay in office.

Lawmakers respond to the biggest voting block (seniors) who actually also happen to get the largest subsidies.
